fabrico pool dome

I am thinking about buying a fabrico pool dome. Has anyone had any experiance with it? It attaches to the top rail and makes it sort of like a greenhouse. It has a zippered door and 3 screened windows. I have a lot of trees, so I have to clean my pool constantly, and have a heating problem. This looks like it would take care of both problems at once. I dont like the idea of swimming in a dome, but I really dont like cleaning a pool that doesnt get used much because of it being too cold. I tried a solar heater, but that didnt do much. My pool stays about 70 to 75 deg all summer. I added a pic if youd like to see one. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike, This is not something that is popular here in Arizona. Not much need for it. I have seen one in forty years in the business. I was impressed however. The customer I was installing a new liner for just loved it.

It sounds like, to me, it would satisfy your needs. Hopefully an actual owner will post back with more comments.

Looks like it wouldn't be great for people who are claustrophobic and I would imagine it could get real hot in there! But it would definetly solve your leaf problems! I have the same problem with my pool here in Canada, usually stays around the 70 - 75 deg mark.....but it is very refreshing!!
Hopefully you will find someone on this forum who has experience with one.

I'd get one. It could extend the swimming season if you live in the arctic zone like I do. The drawbacks for me are $helflife and co$t. But I love the idea.

We wanted to get one, but the home owner's association nazis said we couldn't have one.

I saw that they had them at Propools.com for around $1700 for the big oval to fit our pool. Shelflife IS a drawback though - the frame appears to be ok, but the plastic/covering material doesn't seem to last very long due to the sun exposure. Great idea though.

The cheapest one I found on line is $1280 for my 27 ft round. Other places wanted up to $1499.
I was going to spend $399 for a robotic cleaner, but I think Im going to buy this instead. Keeps it clean and warm.
