My first thought is that the impeller might not be fully tight. The other thing that jumps to mind is that a pebble, or something, might have gotten into the housing when you did the change out.
I just changed the seal in a Hayward 1 hp pump and now the pump I running a little noisy. No leaks and pressure is fine. Any ideas out there as to what may cause this before I tear it apart?

Having done construction and service for 4 pool companies in 4 states starting in 1988, what I know about pools could fill a couple of books - what I don't know could fill libraries
I checked out the pebble situation in the housing and found a lot of DE(I was putting DE in when all this was happening) I cleaned all up and tried again to find the noise still there. Now I'm beginning to think DE has gotten into a motor bearing. Is it worth replacing a motor bearing or will the DE eventually go away?
Thanks
