It looks to me like you've done your homework. I don't have the calc handy for a 32k pool but your quantities and your plan both make good sense.![]()
Haven't taken the cover off yet, but wanted to get a general idea of where things are at underneath. Took a sample over to the pool store and will test with my PS kit this evening to confirm.
32K Gallon, Inground Vinyl Liner
FC 0
TC 0
PH 7.0
TA 90
CYA 10
Hardness 120
Metals 0
I am planning on removing the cover tomorrow night and shocking the pool with about 7 gallons of bleach.
Also will add about 3 lds of soda ash
and finally add about 7lds of CYA (start with about 4 then wait a week)
any comments? Once I shock the pool how soon after can i begin to tackle the PH and CYA? or should the PH be my main concern?
I assume I should keep Alk where it is as it is in the 80 - 125 range and the hardness is fine as I have a vinyl liner.
Thanks in advance!

thanks Dave, i have been visiting these boards for awhile now and this is the 1st year I feel like I am ready to tackle it all.
As for my question, cani tackle all 3 issues at once (i.e. bleach at shock level, soda ash and stabilizer in a sock near the return) or should I focus on individual issues?
There's no reason I can see why you can't do all three at once, just don't combine the chemicals unless they're in the water.
