    Cool High PH

    4,000 gallon pool
    15' x 42"
    SF1000 pump
    TA: 120
    TC: 3
    PH: 8.2
    CYA: 0
Have 17oz in a sock in the skimmer now.

What is the best way to lower my PH?
I already have HTH PH Minus.

Do I put the PH Minus in the skimmer?

I would pre-dissolve it in a bucket full of water and slowly pour it into the return stream in the pool. If you do put it in the skimmer, take the sock containing CYA out of the skimmer first--you don't want to mix chems because they can have unpredictable and sometimes unpleasant results. Make sure the pump is running either way.

I will wait to lower the PH until next weekend after my CYA has been added. Since I haven' t used the PH Minus yet I will have my wife return it and get the Murchic Acid instead. I will mix it in a bucket first and then pour it into the pool near the return slowly.

    Thanks

I wouldn't wait to adjust your pH. If your kits limit is 8.2, then that means the pH may actually be much higher than that. You also do not want to add the acid to the skimmer. Add it slowly in front of a return jet while the pump is running.
