Question Oval construction - straps and uprights uneven

We have what may or may not be a big issue - one set of uprights/straps is shorter from one side of the pool to the other than the rest by about 1/2" or so. Uprights were all lined up and installed evenly, but when the straps went on we ended up short. Pressure plates are installed and all went on correctly lined up. Blocks are in under the straight side uprights and channels are buried level with the ground.

The strap does not appear to be buckled up or heaved anywhere along the length, the uprights are level in all directions - not tipped forward or back, which we thought would cause the discrepancy. When we tried to move the one upright back to even with the other three, it pulled from the other side. Can this be a defect? How much of a problem will this cause when putting the bottom rail, wall, etc on? We plan to install bottom rail and curved side base plates this evening.

Anyone? Any answers to this question? We really need to know before the wall assembly begins. Sand comes tomorrow - wall on within a day or so afterwards.

Hi, if it were me I would drill some new holes and set the braces in line. I use a string line to make sure all the braces line up on both sides. It is important.

You could also add an extention to the strap by finding a similar material, cutting the strap and bolting the new piece into place.

    I would do something, Dennis

Thanks - I kind of suspected thats what we should do. The pool came with some shorter straps to be used with the buttress brace model - we were instructed to discard them but we save everything. We will look at drilling new holes but if that won't work, those extra straps will be used for cutting to make an insert/extension. It ends up being a total of about 1.5" short between the sides, we leveled, measured, more leveling, measuring - still short. This should solve the problem nicely.

    thanks Dennis
