Skimmer installation question

I recently replaced the skimmer on my 24' round above ground pool. I have 2 tiny pinhole leaks that are coming down the outside wall of the pool.

The skimmer came with a butterfly gasket and I installed in the following order...

Wall plate-->inner part of gasket-->liner-->pool wall-->outer part of gasket-->skimmer.

I've read conflicting posts that the inner part of the gasket should go against the pool wall with the liner on top of it.

Wall plate-->liner-->inner part of gasket-->pool wall-->outer part of gasket-->skimmer.

Anyone know which installation is correct?

Welcome to The Forum!

The gaskets should be touching the wall with the liner touching the faceplate.

As a practical matter, it probably doesn't matter, but since you have a leak, you might as well redo the installation.
