Sure! I filled out the form with details about the pool (23,100 gallons, 16'w x 35'l).
I have mustard algae (not pollen, it's clinging to the sides tenaciously). Algaecide isn't doing it, so I'm trying to super-shock it. So far I have the FC up to 12 PPM (pH is 7.2, alkalinity is 80, hardness is 250, and unfortunately CYA is 50).
Is this calculator correct that with a CYA of 50 and a water temp of 66 degrees, I need to get the Free Chlorine up to 29 PPM to kill the mustard algae?
And after I do that, should I lower the CYA levels (if so, to what) so that I can bring the FC down to a level that's safe to swim? Just looking some advice once I kill it off on the fastest way to get back to swimming safely while still keeping the mustard algae out. I read this thread (http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthr...-get-rid-of-it) but not sure how to make that apply to my pool.
