I run my pool with a CYA of 80-90 ppm because I find that I blow through way too much chlorine if I try to keep it below that--with it at 90, it enables me to add the larger size jug of WalMart bleach to my (roughly) 25K gallon pool every 2nd or 3rd night, unless we've had a heavy swimmer load that day. Try bumping yours up a little, see what you think about the chlorine loss, and then raise it as high as you need to to optimize your chlorine. If you only bump it up by 10-20 ppm at a time, it won't be so high that you can't lose some of it through backwashing or splashout if you overshoot a little bit...
