we are in the process of getting an above ground, 24', discovery pool. my husband would like to set it atleast 1' in the ground, but the sales man discouraged it. any advice and thoughts on it?

My neighbor had his above ground pool put 2' into the ground. I liked it and did the same with my 18' x 36' above ground pool - 2' into the ground. That was 10 years ago. My pool is still all original - original liner. No doubt the pool siding would last longer not sunk into the ground - mine does show signs of rusting.
I'm sure you've thought of thee things:
Do you have a way to get rid of the dirt? Do you have a way to get a bobcat into your back yard? etc.
What's the sales person's objections? Have you talked to the construction folks? How do they feel about it? If they don't feel comfortable with it, then I wouldn't either.
They do not recommend that AG pools are buried in the ground as the walls are more likely to rot/rust/deteriorate. I think it may void the warranty, but not sure about that.
