    Do you mean behind the liner on the actual walls? I've never had that and don't think most people have it on their pools. I have always had the pad on the bottom underneath the liner and the cove. That is all you need.

    I installed 1/4" wall foam with my pool last year mostly for thermal insulation. Does it work - I have no wat to know, it should. It also makes the walls soft to the touch.
