    Variable speed pumps vs.variable flow pumps..your thoughts before I buy.

    Bumping this one up.....
    Machster, I can't answer your questions, but I'm sure that mas985, Pooldoc, or one of the other equipment experts will be along soon. It might take a few days, though--try to bear with us, forum traffic is WAY above normal for this time of year and we're trying to get to everybody as quick as we can!

    You'll get quicker answers if you provide as much information as you can about you pool, equipment, and plumbing. Waterfall, fountain, cleaner, solar heat. I would caution against a pump with a safety vacuum release system if you have solar heat. When the solar comes on with my new EcoStar SVRS, the pump trips because it thinks filling the solar is an entrapment event.
