I'm replacing my line (it's sitting in the sun as I type this.) I'm replacing all fittings and want to replace my old skimmer with the widemouth Hayward.
The old skimmer has ears where it screws into the (plywood) pool wall from the outside. The new one has no such mounting ears.
If I am reading the instructions right, the skimmer just "hangs" from the liner, with no other connection to the pool wall. Can this be right?
It looks like, from inside out, I would have; faceplate, liner, both layers of gasket, skimmer body.
