    Question Water Level - HELP!

    Hello All-

We are new AGP owners - that's the good, the bad is I think we got a bad install. We have a 24', 52" round Costa Del Sol installed by a professional installer so we thought we were doing good. However I measured the pool @ 5, 7, 10&2 (using a clock, probably unofficial) I got the following measurements: 5=43.5", 7=45.5", 10=48", & 47.5", I'm no expert but this does not seem right. Just to be a bit more specific, I stood outside the pool and placed a "stick" an arms length in and got these measurements. Am I just measuring wrong, pool has been installed just two weeks so does it settle? Or, and the question i fear, do I just have a bad install!!!??? Please help. Thanks. -Susan

    Hi Susan,

I know nothing about AGP installation, but I do know that a difference of 4.5 inches side to side is NOT a good thing. I'm bumping this post up so that some of the installation guys on the forum can get a look at it and hopefully answer your questions. Please try to be patient with us, though--we are being swamped daily with new posts, partly because it's just that time of year, and partly because more and more folks are having problems due to the warmer winter a lot of us had. Hopefully somebody will be along soon that can be of help....
    Janet

The question is: is the top of the pool level? If there's that much variation of the floor depth then it's kinda sloppy. If there's that much variation in top of the wall from level, you have a warranty issue. Is there water in the pool? If so, measure the distance from surface of water to top of pool wall (under cap or seat). If that's pretty much the same all around, you're OK.

Measure as BigDave says, on a new install you should be almost perfect. Most installation instructions say the pool must be within 1.5" level.

Thank you all! Yes, you are correct in your advice to measure from the top of pool wall. We ended up calling a local installer and he advised the same and we measured and I'm happy to report that our pool is in fact level (within an inch) - thank goodness, I was stressed for a bit but as a new AGP owner I have a lot to learn. From the inside of the pool the ground is a bit unlevel but nothing too crazy. Thanks again.

Good news! By the way, update your signature with the details about your pool. Type, volume, type of filter, size of pump, if you have a Taylor K-2006, any other equipment, etc.
