I take it that your original pump does not have a pump basket? Also, does it matter if the pump has a side discharge? Isn't all the hose flex anyway?

yes it has a pump basket, and its needs a side discharge and it connects directly to the cartridge filter from the side.
the pump you suggest is only 3/4 HP which is fine, but is the high speed 3/4 or more? if the high is 3/4, what does the pump operate on low at?
right now i have a 2hp but that is way to high except for vacuum or really turning the water over for chemicals, otherwise the normal speed of 3/4 (i believe ) is plenty.

A 2hp pump is WAY too big for a 7.5K pool. I have a 27ft AG pool and I have a 1/2hp full-rated inground pump and it does just fine. In the case of pools, too big is not better because many times when you have too powerful of a pump you either blow right through the filter media or you can actually damage it. Mark will give you good advice about what a good pump would be for your pool.
yes i understand its too big, i never run it on high, except it vacuum.
my question was, for any two speed pump they only list one power rating, yet operate at two speeds, so is the rating the max speed? if so what is the low speed rating?

With a direct connect pump, you will probably want to stay with the same type/brand so that it will fit properly. It also sounds like you are worried that there will not be enough flow rate to vacuum if you downsize the pump. However, any pump should be able to run a vacuum properly and circulate the water. Those functions usual do not require a high HP pump.
This looks to be a direct replacement for the pump you have: https://www.poolparts2day.com/store....26&pid=20&cart
If you want to downsize by one size, then you could go with this one: https://www.poolparts2day.com/store.cfm?pid=20&id=525
I believe that you can reuse your old pump basket on either of these pumps.

i really wish i didn't need to get approval for my posts as some of my responses haven't shown up yet.
so long as it is a side discharge it should fit, the mounting holes are slotted.
i dont want to be spending more energy than i need to, so if a 3/4 will work, i'll use that instead.

I believe the replacements for what you have now are cheaper than the 3/4 HP Dynamo and I don't think the Dynamo will work in your setup. So like I said, you are better off getting the same brand pump as you have now so it will fit your filter.
