Default Amount of borax to use to raise pH

We have an above ground pool, 5,000 gal. Needing to know how much to add and how much raise. Also how long after adding to test.

Default Re: Amount of borax to use to raise pH

Given that we know NOTHING about your pool, 1/4 of a box, added SLOWLY to the skimmer is a reasonable dose. Again, better info depends on specifics you haven't provided, but in general pH levels above 7.0 and below 8.0 may be acceptable.

If you don't have a kit, you need to look at the kit info page in my signature.
