Welcome to the forum.
It's 200 - 400ppm for a gunite pool. 120 ppm is Ok for a vinyl pool. You are Ok. Whoever recommended you did not know you had a vinyl pool.
Hope this helps.

I have an Aquarite and calcium of 80 in a vinyl inground. Is that a problem? They recommend 200-400. Thanks

Do you have a heater?
Yes a Heat Siphon heat pump.
Then you may want to run your calcium hardness a bit higher than 80 ppm. Even though you generally don't need calcium in a vinyl lined pool, it may help protect the heater.
Ben's tip on calcium in vinyl pools alludes to this: http://www.poolsolutions.com/tips/tip03.html
I knew it wouldn't hurt the pool.(found that info here) I am just worried about the SWG. Thank you for the help and welcome!
