Low calcium will not harm a salt chlorine generator. However, low calcium contributes to a corrosive tendency of your water. You should also provide your total alkalinity and pH levels...and your water temperature.
Corrosive tendencies will lead to erosion/corrosion of anything metallic in contact with the water...think ladders, light rings, heat exhangers (unless it's titanium), and handrails.
