Default Determing water level in ground before starting

On my property the back 1/4 acre is wetlands and it has flooded in really heavy rains. My house is just a little higher and never flooded to it. But for putting in an inground pool, how can I determine the water level here? The top of the pool will be build up an extra foot above ground since I'll raise the pool/patio to be level with my back door. That leaves 4 feet down since I only want a 5ft deep pool.

    Thanks!

When we ran into ground water problems, we consulted a soil engineer who worked for a major construction company in town. He came and did a site visit, some soil tests, and wrote us a detailed report. I think it cost us about 500 dollars, but was worth it for the peace of mind that it was OK to continue our work. You are smart to think of this before you start, wish we would have!

How did you work with the water? Did you install a well point and continued to pump any excess water out during installation?

    Thanks for your help too!

What kind of pool are you attempting to install? When they hit water while installing my Concrete in ground pool, they just brought in different equipment finished the dig (charging me extra) and then pumped out as necessary. Dirt pit for Rebar and then the pool shell as needed. There where are pressure releif plugs in the bottom of the pool that where left out until plaster and would need to be removed if I ever completely drained the pool.
