Default Hayward S240 Sand Filter replacement

My sand filter split at the base. I am looking to get a replacement filter that I can use with my existing Valve.
The valve I have is just a year old. It is side mounted. I would like to get something compatible to the s240 so I can keep new plumbing to a minimum.
I am looking for a recommendation. Thanks, Mike

    Hi Mike!

All the Hayward side-mount sand filters will work with your multiport.

It's usually recommended to get the next size up filter for better performance.

Thank You for your help. I did contact Hayward today and they said the S200 would be the replacement.
I am willing to go the next size up. Any idea on the model number and a place that sells the filter only. I am finding most of the on line dealers selling with the valve. Thanks in advance. Mike

I am seeing that the replacement part I need is listed at 399.00.
The s244s (Sand Filter with Side Mount Valve 24 Inch Tank) sells for 469.99 from inyopools linked to this site. My pool is 33000 gallons. Looks like I will have to go with the new.

The s244s is also sold here http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss...wngarden%2C258 through the Amazon link, which will also give a commission to the forum for buying through the link, if you're interested.....and it says there are some starting at $459.

Thank you. That looks to be significant savings on the top mount. I am looking for the side mount. I also see that the s200 which is the the replacement for the s240 that i have is more money than the s244.
Time for a little more research.

The one I posted about is the side mount--item #12 on that page.
