    Exclamation AO pump problem

I have a problem with my pool pump. I recently replaced a bearing and when I assembled it back it does not want to start. It spins freely by hand. Also when I turn it by hand under power it picks up the speed and after few seconds you can hear spring on the governor switch (I guess) and the pump starts to work fine. Also it starts without a problem after shut down until the shaft is still rotating at list a little. When the shaft stops, it does not start again

Sounds like a bad start capacitor. It is either in the back of the motor or in the hump on the side of the motor.

OK I figured it out. AO Smith BN24 motor does not have a capacitor, so there this goes. I talked to the technical support and they suggested a bad contact on the starter switch. I cleaned it , bend the contacts closer together and it started to work fine!!!
