    Default Cheap Water Feature

Okay, don’t laugh – yes I am a redneck. When my pool was built, the outlet for the pool sweep was put relatively high. I assume this is so I can disconnect it without going fishing. Anyway, I like to run my water a little lower than the jet needs to QUIETLY run. In other words, when I disconnect my sweep for a party, etc. I can’t run my pump because the noise from the jet is very annoying. If I run the water high enough to cover it up, it almost covers the skimmer inlets completely. I thought about unscrewing the wall fitting and adding a 90 going down a bit, then attach the sweep down there. What do you all think? The other part of the question is could I put a T instead of a 90 and have some PVC come upwards for some type of a jet/fountain/shower for the kids? Anyone have any thoughts on this? I know it’s a little cheesy, but it might work, huh. Has anyone else made a “homemade” jet/fountain/shower that is easily removable? If so, are there any pics.

    All thoughts are welcome,
    Brad

My sweeper jet has a cap that can be put on while not in use. But, all of my jets are at the same level, so I don't cap it. I have seen the caps in pool stores, & maybe on line. Try www.intheswim.com They may have them too. Atleast you can see what they look like.

    Hope this helps..

P.S.) I am a "redneck" also, & ALWAYS looking for cheap fixes....
