Any help with my questions?
Hi all,
I have a 20x40 (18x36) depending where u measure from) inground pool with diving board that was bulit in the 50's. The pool holds roughly 30k gallons. I have 1 skimmer, 1 main drain, and 1 return.
I am going to have the pool resurfaced next week with Diamondbrite: color Sky Blue. My skimmer and return line were broken and I had to run pipe over the deck. Since i am getting this done I figure why not just go ahead and fix everything. My skimmer line is 1.5" and I believe my drain is the same but comes up through concrete at 1.5". Pool is empty and I can check pipe diameter. My original return line was 1.25" I believe. My fixit pipe run was 1.5".
I am thinking of upgrading all the plumbing. 2" skimmer and 1.5" from main drain to 2" to pad. All pad piping changed to 2". Have the return line upped to 2" and then scaled down to 1.5" before pool wall penetration and have 1" eyeball.
I am also going to have a dedicated vacuum line installed. Should this be at 2" as well with 1.5" hitting the pool?
All suction lines are plumbed separately.
My equipment is Jacuzzi Magnum 1UMFS pump and a Starite SMD72 DE filter.
I am unsure of the flow rate of the pump as its probably 10 years old now. The filter can handle 144gpm max but of course we dont want to go that high. the sweet spot is 72 - 108gpm.
My original clean pressure reading is about 9 or 10psi. My equipment is within 6 feet of the pool.
My question: what changes would you do, do you see any problems, and is my equipment sufficient?
Thanks for your help,
Ron
