Default Do I need to landscape after pool is installed?

When the installer digs out the area for the pool, there will be a dirt space all the way around the pool. Is it usually a mess, or should it already be pretty symettrical where I just need to throw some pea stone all around it?

Just wasn't sure, if after they're done I'll have to go out and dig some more to make sure it looks good, and is actually symmetrical all around, etc....

You can make that part of the job requirements to clean up around the perimeter. I have black landscaping fabric with medium-sized river rock around my pool. My pool installers did it as part of the job.
