I think if your contract calls for a Jandy NEVERLUBE, get the neverlube. They are more expensive than a standard valve because of the diverter gasket within the valve that does not require lubricant...it's impregnated with special "stuff".
However, a Jandy valve is a Jandy valve. They have years of quality built into their valves. Any of the other brand named valves (compool, pentair, mark urban) would be considered "In Like Kind" as the guvment officials like to call them. Avoid the generic valves that are smaller, thinner walled, flimsy handles and shafts...basically the cheap imported stuff.
Gaskets, o-rings, shaft seals, etc will always be available for the Jandy valve, as well as the other brand name valves.
