Default Plants in North Texas (DFW area)

Hi everyone...good to be back in the loop a little.

I have a question for those in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. What plants do you like near your pool that will last? All of my plants from last year died (palms, oleandars, etc.). So, I have to start from scratch. I am looking for a nice green setting with a little color. Last year I had some purple fountain grass which is an annual and they did very well. However, the "cat-tails" were in the pool all the time and I will not do that again.

Anyway, just looking for some suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Mike

No plants around my 36k IG , but have some bushes that are flowering right now and filling the skimmer box daily

    Default same problem

I live in the DFW area also and had the same problem. Palms and oleanders planted last year look bad. Some are not going to make it. I think it was just because it has been so dry.
