Almost time for a new liner

Yeah, the darker liners look cool, but I think you're gonna find that you hit hot-tub temps much faster than with a lighter liner. On the flip side, though, you might be able to extend your swim season by a few weeks. My liner is a 20 ml made by Plastimayd. My old liner lasted 8 years (my pool stays open year-round but actually has swimmers in it from April through late Sept or early Oct.) and I just replaced it last spring. Looking at the pattern choices the installer gave me, the website is plastimayd.com. There are other liner companies out there, but these are the only ones I've ever had. At least I know they're good ones.

Are you planning on dropping the new liner yourself?

If you need info on patching a liner look at the first sickie in this section.

If you need help on measuring for a new liner (even if you have a "cookie- cutter" pool... it's best to measure before ordering a new liner) or dropping one, give a whistle and I'll tell you what to do and be ware of.

Also, expect to have to have 'some' work done on the floor (let me know what your floor is made of, and I'll try and give you a reasonable idea of what you might need done )

I'll gladly help you with getting a new liner in your pool, but can't help with the questions you asked

Yes the plan is to do it ourselves. I have a friend who has done a few. The tear is above water level and is too big to patch, it's duct taped to survive one more season!

It will be a while before this project starts... perhaps this time next year. But I want to plan now. Yes the templates I have seen for measuring are quite daunting! haha

Not sure what is underneath... the pool came with a house! :-)

Duct tape can be a reasonable fix for a season (as long as the hole is above the water, like you say) but let me know a little more about your pool and the hole (water test results would also help) and we may be able to get you a better temporary fix
