Congratulations for not falling into the pool store trap and doing your homework!! Glad you got the mess cleaned up--and it'll be amazing how much easier it is to keep it clear than to let it go and then have to clean it up again!![]()
Greetings, just bought a foreclosure house, with beautiful new gunite pool. Except pool was covered in 1/4" thick RED algae. It's my first pool and I thought for sure it was a goner. Never thought the gunite would be white again. Yet here I sit, after 3 days of scrubbing, 6 bottles of chlorine, 1 Gal of Muratic Acid, and every muscle in my body aching, a thankful man with close to perfect water numbers. It wasn't easy, but following the expert advice found on this forum I now have a Sparkling Gem of a Pool. Thanks to all who contribute to this great Forum. I can now go forward with confidence through knowledge. Thanks for saving me from the pool store trap!!!

Hi, welcome and Congratulations!
Yes, fixing a problem is far harder than maintaining a clean, problem-free pool. You'll be amazed at how easy and cheap it is!
