    Default Pool motor replacement

I am installing a 2 hp a o smith centurion motor and the wires are one green ( ground )and two brown. Does it matter which brown wire goes on the contacts? Are the brown wires interchangeable ? Thanks

Hi Tippy and welcome to the Pool Forum. Sorry you haven't yet gotten a reply. I am going to ask Poconos, my fellow mod, to take a look at your post and see if he can help. He is pretty knowledgeable about motors.

I really don't know details of that motor but as a general rule if there is no color differentiation then it makes no difference. The internal connections, which are not as easy to get to, are the ones that determine the direction of rotation.

Hi! Do you have big pool? Why such a big pump motor? I have a 20,000 gallon pool and I run a 1hp 2 speed, mostly on low speed.
