My new pool was opened at the end of last July. We only got usage for two mo's. Pool company closed it and installed vinyl cover. When I opened it two weeks ago the water was as blue as when I closed it. When I checked the chlorine it was off the charts. When the pool company opened it they shocked it and added pucks to my feeder. Chlorine was so high I took pucks out and tested daily until it drpped down to 2. Used my test kit today here are my results.
    Fc- 4
    Cc-0
    Tc-2-3 to close to call
    Ph-7.3
    Alk-80
    Cal-280
    Cya-95 ( seems too high)
    Temp- 66
My pool is 25,000 gal gunite pool. I plan on using bleach once my initial gallon bucket of pucks are gone.Whats my next step. Water looks great.

    Bryjen,

Your CYA is too high. The pucks will only make it higher. Give them to a friend who doesn't care about his pool and use bleach the rest of the Summer.

Your numbers are okay but you'll need to keep Cl in the 8 - 12ppm range (with bleach) because of your high CYA.
