    I send the kids in for cannonballs. They love it!

    That's a good idea!! I don't know what problem it might cause although if you have a place where the liner has pulled a bit loose and water could get in behind that might be an issue. I like to let mine fill up pretty full but not to the top of the liner.. I just send some water to waste as painful as that is to lose chemicals and the H2O. My skimmer works somewhat up to a 1/2 inch or so past the top of it but not as well of course. Last year in September we had an afternoon when we got 12 inches of rain in one day!! I had to pump water out of the pool twice that day. It was really sad to pump that much water out of the pool!!
