Default Legit, Budgetary, FULL Pool Remodel Question

Hello. I am inching closer to purchasing a new home that will basically require a FULL remodel of an in-ground pool. Does anyone have any advice on how much to budget for an average size (probably around 20x40) pool for a complete remodel?

    Thanks for any responses!

Hello, and welcome to the forum!!

I would caution you that budgeting for a complete pool remodel is going to vary widely from area to area, and also depending on what exactly you want. What type of finish, drains or not, new pump/filter, etc. are all things that will need to be considered, but what I can build for 25K here might cost double that in other parts of the country.

Hopefully some of the members with building experience will be along shortly to offer what advice they can, but just know that the prices are not going to be consistent across the country, and that the main focus of this forum is mainly on chemistry and equipment problems, not too much on construction.

    Hi Brant, and welcome!

Jan's right: no way to budget without far more information, some of which you don't likely have. For example, if the plumbing's all good, that's one thing, but what if some buried lines are leaking or crushed or have ice damage? That means digging. If the pool is concrete or tile, does the surface need fixing? Is it cracked? If the lining is vinyl the issues change yet again. Is the liner good or bad? What about what's under it?

These are just a sample of a few of the questions to answer even before considering regional cost variations (it's pretty expensive here in suburban NJ).
