Have no idea how hard they are to find but running the filter without sand shouldn't hurt anything. Is there a Bypass or Recirculate setting on the valve? Those will bypass the filter too.

I was replacing the sand in my filter with Zeobrite today & somehow broke one of the laterals. Anyone know how hard these are to find at the pool stores?
The filter is an Artesian ClearWater Plus Model #CMP-16. I can't seem to find any info about it online.
Will it hurt to put the filter back together WITHOUT the sand so I can continue circulating my water & keep it chlorinated?

Luckily, the pool store here has about 30 of the laterals in stock for my filter. I plan to buy several so I can have a couple of spares.
I wish would have thought about the recirculate setting last night. I could have used that & ran the pump without ever reassembling the filter. I will know better next time. Thanks Poconos!

FYI.....you might fill the filter 1/2 way up with water before pouring in the sand. Just a helpful tip that might keep you from breaking laterals. Depending on how old the system is, they might break anyway.
