All forms of chlorine actually lower pH when they sanitize so the net effect of using unstabilzied chloirne (cal hypo, bleach, lithium hypochlorite) is basically pH neutral while the net effect of using trichlor and dichlor is acidic and will lower pH and TA (and raise CYA).
