Just wondering, how hard or what should I be aware of if I converter from Saltwater back to semi freshwater? My SW Cell needs replacement and I thought about just keeping the pool full of water and using chlorine tabs.

Think about it. Chlorine is chlorine, whether it comes from a SWCG, a bottle, or tabs. initially, you'll have salty water left over but that'll get diluted in time. With the tabs you have the added challenge of possibly overshooting the CYA level. With plain bleach or liquid chlorine, all you have is chlorine. The results are pretty much the same: water sanitized by chlorine.

but the salt will be in the water forever ,unless you drain and refill
Having salt in the water is not a problem--there are quite a few users on this forum that don't use SWCGs that added the salt anyway because they like the feel of the water.

I agree. I add salt to my pool but don't have a SWCG. The water is fabulous. Does not impact anything about chem balance that I can tell.
10,000 gallon IG vinyl liner pool, BBB user, salt added to 2300 ppm (because it makes the water feel great!), new liner/new water on 6/23/11, algae-free since 2006 (at least that's as far back as I remember). 1HP Hayward 2-SPEED CONVERTED Superpump, Hayward sand filter, PS234 test kit.
Goal: To remain completely algae-free for the life of this new liner!
Life lesson: It is what it is.

It will get diluted over time. I have to add one to two bags of salt to our pool each spring just to keep the levels up for the generator.
The biggest changes will be in the first couple of years. Five years from now I think you'd have trouble tasting the salt.
