Wet Edge Luna Quartz 'Mediterranean Blue' pool surface stained by acid
Start-up technician added 31% muriatic acid for the first time by rapidly squeezing the plastic gallon bottle twice in succesion. The acid sprayed out into the deep end. Wow, I thought that's a quick way to add the acid. A few days later, while swimming with goggles, I noticed two large, light-colored areas that looked like triangular or delta-shaped plumes exactly where the technician had "sprayed" the acid. There was also a light-colored area where the acid had pooled by the drain. I showed this to the PB construction foreman during the walk-through at the completion of the pool and he advised that a company representative would come out to the house and decide what to do. The company manager concluded that it was due to 'efflorescence' of the pool surface cement and there wasn't anything they could do for it. Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Any suggestions?
