    Default my pool died.

I have been reading this forum for about 3 years now, i found it while searching the internet after buying a house that came with an above ground swamp. Thanks to the post here i was able to get it going with no prior know how of pool care and have got addicted to having a pool and keeping it crystal clear. The pool was 25 + yrs old and wasnt maintained very well, it had a lot of corrosion on the bottom wall. Well any ways i got up this morning before work and went out back to look at my pool before turning on the filter and seen it was empty. Yep the wall gave out and the pool died. So i really just need some suggestions on good pool brands, steal vs resin, steal vs aluminum and such. If climates a factor im in the midwest, hot summers brutally cold winters.

My condolences! That is something I always think about -- a pool wall collapsing and emptying the pool. My yard is relatively flat but it is slightly sloped towards my house. I'm gonna replace my pool before i get to that point!

I hope you'll get the info you are looking for here on the forum. Welcome! Glad that after 3 years you decided to register!

I would be very leery of their 30 year warranty. Go over it with a fine tooth comb. Is it the pool manufacturer or the shop's? How do you use it if you need it? What pitfalls does it build in? "Warning: Warranty is void if liner or pool wall is exposed to UV rays!" would be an example of a way to make a warranty worthless. Who has them installed and what do they say about them?
