I keep 3200 ppm in my pool. Last weekend several people who'd never been in a saltwater pool went for a dip (didn't know about the salt in the water). Afterwords, 2 of the 5 said they tasted a VERY slight saltiness, the other 3 had no idea.
I can taste it for just a second, then goes away.
Bottom line, you need a good drop based test via Ben or Taylor (you can order online). Don't rely on the light or the readout.
