Default Should I cover AGP each night?

Should I be covering our Intex Easy Set pool each night, and leaving it covered when not in use? I did this initially, but after the first week or two, it was kind of a pain. Also it seemed the chlorine from the shock stayed really high if I didn't uncover. But now I feel like I have to clean it more (pine straw, blah) and recently got algae growth. Would covering help?

Covering will keep it cleaner and keep you from losing as much chlorine. It will also prevent some heat loss at night so the water will stay warmer. But, you don't have to ever cover it if you don't want to. It is just a matter of personal preference.

Algae growth is a result of chemistry issues and chlorine levels being too low.

I agree with watermom!! I have never had any problems with algae but only once and it was from leaving the solar cover on during the hot days in July! I started to notice that there we little like glue balls floating around the pool. I went to the pool store and got yelled at (my friends) for having the solar cover on and this was the cause of my algae. That was a couple of years ago, but I put 2 oz of Omni breakout 60 in everyweek just for a preventative in the hot months.
