Hi, and welcome to the forum!!!

In a nutshell, the BBB method is about knowing what chemicals have what effect on your pool water, and the knowledge that most of those chems can be bought at your local grocery store at 1/2-2/3 off the price that you'd pay for it at the pool store. Take some time, read through as many posts and stickies around the forum as you can, and also do some reading at our sister site, PoolSolutions.com, and if you have specific questions, please come back and ask!.

To add to what Janet said, BBB refers to bleach, Borax and baking soda which most of us use to replace some of the pool store chemicals. BTW, when you are trying to search and read the forum, you'll have to log out to be able to see the entire forum. After your registration is completed, that will no longer be necessary and you'll have access to the entire forum.

    Welcome! Glad you found us!
