relcycled glass media is silica, Sand is silica. You be the judge.
Hi all: anyone heard of recycled glass filter media? The installer who replaced my liner carries it as one of his accessory lines. The manufacturer site says it's superior to sand or Zeolite for various reasons. Just wondering... have never heard of this before. Manufacturer site: http://www.glasspackfilter.com/ .
This is not an ad or a recommendation... I just wondered if this stuff is useful or is another "poolstore" type gimmick. It's fairly expensive, but not out of the ballpark.
Would appreciate any comments from folks who know about this or can evaluate it.
10,000 gallon IG vinyl liner pool, BBB user, salt added to 2300 ppm (because it makes the water feel great!), new liner/new water on 6/23/11, algae-free since 2006 (at least that's as far back as I remember). 1HP Hayward 2-SPEED CONVERTED Superpump, Hayward sand filter, PS234 test kit.
Goal: To remain completely algae-free for the life of this new liner!
Life lesson: It is what it is.
