Default Echo Canyon OR Pacifica AG Pool

Hello! We are in Florida and well... it's already HOT! We are really looking hard at AG pools and after visiting a few of the local pool stores we have narrowed it down to 2 different pools and I'd like your expert advice.

The first pool is definitely a NICE pool! It's the Artesian Echo Canyon. We want a 24 foot round. It's without a doubt a good pool but quite a bit more money over the other pool we liked.

The second choice is a Recreational Factory Warehouse pool, the Pacifica, also 24 foot round. While I'm not highly impressed with Rec Warehouse, the pool seems to be decent quality. It has Resin top rails and a stainless stell wall panel, both things we feel are important.

BOTH pools come with a nice thick 25 mil liner.

The Pacifica pool requires sand for installation.
The Echo uses pool base and cove for installation.

    The Pacifica comes with Baquacil.
The Echo uses The Pro-A Mineral system.

    The Echo Canyon is $3900 + tax + $600 installation= $4773
    The Pacifica is $2700 + tax + $600 installation = $3489

IS the Echo Canyon worth $1200 MORE??????????????

    Thanks!

    The Pacifica comes with Baquacil.
The Echo uses The Pro-A Mineral system.
Stay clear of both of these.

Yep, just chlorine! As do most members here, and we have stunningly clear water. The fact is, most of us use either bleach or a salt-water chlorinator as our chlorine source.
The mineral systems put silver and copper in the water to prevent biological growth. The ability of them to do this is spotty or nonexistent when it comes to viruses. Copper is really good at turning hair green though.

Wayell, I'm all for the chlorine, too!

But the reason I was impressed with the Nature2 Pro-A Minerals & Auto Chlorinator was because the salesman said it uses chlorine but cuts the distribution down to 5%, reducing stinging eyes, etc...

Am I under the wrong impression with this thing?

    Yes. Look here: http://www.poolforum.com/pf2/showthr...ight=%22nature

You will soon learn that most people who work in pool stores have never taken care of a pool.

    Wow- Ok.

So, if we go with the AG 24 round, how do I learn to take care of it since the pool people haven't a clue what to tell me except for the Pro-A or bauqacil route.

Can someone quickly explain the chlorine VS salt?

You can learn here and at www.poolsolutions.com

The salt generation uses an electrical device that turns saltwater into chlorinated water. You add salt to the pool, which improves the feel of the water. They are fairly expensive. ($500 up)

Exclamation Re: Echo Canyon OR Pacifica AG Pool

My new pool (Echo Canyon) isn't up yet...but I was extremely impressed with the quality of the pool and the thickness of the steel walls. I'm not sure if you were able to look at a display demo that was up at the store, but..the quality as compared to the other pools my store offered was off the chart! The warranty was non-prorated 60 year which seemed impressive. The top rails were 9" with a resin track. Structurally, it just appeared strong. You may want to email "huskerfan" a member of this board who purchased an Echo Canyon to see how they like it so far. I'm hoping we'll be happy once it's installed.

Thumbs up Re: Echo Canyon OR Pacifica AG Pool

we have an Artesian pool, ours is a "fusion" and is a 30 ft round. we use proteam supreme and a nature 2 chlor/ionozer cartridge. we love it !!!!!! we bought ours at the chatt tn store and the sales ppl were very knowledgable and helpful. we set our chlorinator on .5 and with the proteam supreme the kids have never complained of irritation.
our water looks like liquid glass and a million rainbows are dancing in the water. we bought a light with it, and the hard plumb kit with shut offs, a sand filter and the deluxe steps.
we have had absolutely no problems with it, and we were complete novices when we got it. we do not use much on chemicals and its so easy to upkeep. artesian is definitely worth it. we shopped from birmingham al to nashville tn to chatt and near atlanta ga before deciding on the artesian at the pool place in chatt tn. i cant say enough about how wonderful it has been having our pool.
it is so worth the money.
we are very busy and i wanted something that was low maintence and easy to care for. and this has been it.
    well worth it,
    a happy artesian customer...
