    Good idea! I have a Hayward 2 spd 1hp Super pump and a 200# sand filter. 200# is just adequate. Had I known then what I know now it would be 250# or 300#. However, since it functions perfectly well and ain't broke, so I'm not fixin' it! BTW, sand filters actually filter BETTER at low speed when you have a 2 speed pump. They just catch more stuff when the pressure isn't as high.

    Several years ago, I noticed the my filter seemed to do better on low speed, so I asked the question. The general consensus of analysis was that yes, everyone else saw this happen as well.
