    Default deck gounding

I am having a pool repoured. The deck is already in place. When they pour the pool, does it have to be tied into the deck with steel? It wasn't the first time and I see no rebar connecting it for the repour either.

The pool shell is usually not physically connected to the decking. In my pool they used roofing shingles on the bond beam to keep the deck from bonding to the bond beam.

You don't need a physical connection, but you need an electrical connection. If you require an inspection, you should get your inspector involved right now. The rebar or mesh in the pool shell needs to be electrically bonded to the rebar or mesh in the deck. Refer to the 2005 National Electrical Code, Article 680.
