    Default liquid chlorine

    I have just started switching to the BBB system so I am a newbee. This question may seem dumb, if so - sorry... The chlorine packets I have are 47% calcium hypochlorite, and my pool becomes cloudy every time I use this. My guess is the problem is with the calcium. I have a vinyl liner so I really don't need the calcium, just the chlorine. I'm confused about which chlorine to purchase, what is a good percent, where do I buy it, and how do I know how much to add to my 20,000 gallon pool? My current FC level is 3.
    Thanks for the help, I'll get this eventually....

    Hi Rainbow;

    Buy plain 6% household bleach and add 2 gallons at a time in the evenings (~6 ppm on your pool).

    Also,

    #1 - Order a Taylor K2006 or 2006C kit (Amazon links below -- make sure seller is "Amato Industries"; other sellers have shipped the not-equal K2005. Amato tends to restock quickly.)
    #2 - Read the "Best Guess" page, also linked below.
    #3 - Test your pool as soon as you can, report the results.
    #4 - Meanwhile, get a cheap OTO /phenol red testkit locally (Walmart?) and maintain yellow to dark yellow chlorine levels (3 - 10 ppm)
    #5 - And, stop using the calcium based chlorine, for now.
