Default aqualogic table top remote question

So I've got a 5 year old Aqua Logic system managing my pool operation, and a remote (wireless) for it that we keep inside (GLX-TB-RF-PS-8). I'm pretty sure the remote has failed. I took it apart and replaced the battery, but to no avail.

Any experts here know if I can just buy a replacement remote and have it work when turned on? I'm guessing the programming is stored on the base unit and the remote is only for communicating commands and receiving state updates from the base.

Anyone been through this before? Thanks.

    Chris

Yes, you should be able to buy the remote and then have the base unit "teach wireless remote" under the settings menu.
