I my name is matt i have a 27' above ground pool with a hayward sand filter. i have tried and tried to get rid of the algae in my pool with no success. it seems when i go to vac out the algae off the bottom the filter isnt trapping it and is pumping it back in the pool? any ideas? i have used shock, HTH green to blue, and bleach. nothing seems to work.

Post current water testing numbers taken with a drops-based kit and let us take a look at them and see if we can help you figure out what it going on in your pool. Make sure the CYA reading is one of the test numbers you report. What is the ingredient in the shock you are using? Also, what is HTH green to blue? One other thing for now --- how big is your pump?
