    Okay I'll add more chlorine via the pool calculator at sundown . What should my target ph be ?

    Although anywhere between 7.2-7.8 is ok, I prefer 7.4-7.6.

    EDIT -- I just now saw that you are going to work to lower your alk. In that case, you'll want to drop your pH down to 7.0 and then aerate it back up. Be sure to read the link Jan posted for you above that explains the lowering alk process.
