Congrats and welcome! This forum has helped me tremendously with all the things I've read through. My pool is only a few days old but the levels are great, and it was a good couple of days to enjoy. Unfortunately, now that the pool is up we have to figure out what to do around the outside of it. The installer and a few others have recommended some river rock (medium size smooth stones) with a two course layer of landscape timbers or similar barrier about two feet wide around the pool. As for a deck, I am probably just going to build a small platform that follows two or three top rails ... mainly for sitting with feet in pool and attaching the offset umbrellas ... no one in their right mind would sit on a chair out in the open when only 100 feet from the sun (Alabama)

Good luck and please let us know what you come up with.
18' Swim N Play Yukon Resin Hybrid AGP (7443 gallons)
Waterway 19" Sand Filter (100#) and 1HP 2 speed pump
Hayward AquaTrol-RJ salt water chlorine generator
    1 clear pool + 2 ecstatic little girls + 1 happy wife = 1 smiling dad
Located in the insanely hot locale of central Alabama

Thanks, swimlane! I should have the final details worked out tomorrow and be installed by the end of next week, hopefully. We've been kicking around ideas for decks and will probably end up consolidating two or three ideas. I really like the open ones with the steps that are closed in -- kind of a multi-level platform look if that makes sense. I really like the idea of the river rock. I think I want to do something similar around the parts of ours too. I'm also still contemplating how we are going to safety proof ours from our beloved hound... I am so worried he is going to try to go for a swim! He is going to be soooo upset when the pool installers invade his backyard domain! hahaha By the way, I'm north of you, in Tennessee...Go Vols! : )

Thanks, maggiemaye! We got ours installed today, just trying to get it filled now. Of course, there's rain in the forecast for the next few days. -_- Good luck with your pool!

Thanks, Watermom! I am in the process of trying to get it filled now. They installed it Friday morning and the sun was in and out, then yesterday we had thunderstorms. Just my luck! -_- LOL
