I found that with Wanda (or probably with any pool cleaner), buying the in-line leaf basket is a big help but is sold seperately. I've seen these cleaners go for $500 - $1000, but I own a Wanda the Whale, and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. There is also a Diver Dan and a Lady Bug that are the same thing.
Wow, I find it hard to believe that Wanda the Whale works! I have looked at these in the store, but just thought it was another waste of money. I honestly really love the Polaris SuperTurtle, great concept and I love that it works off the return, I just leave it on all the time! However it just does not clean the whole pool? It may clean an oval better, but just does not do the backside of my pool ever!! I have fiddled with it, taken it apart everthing and still just cleans what it wants. I have been tempted to buy a Polaris 65 and see if it would work better. Maybe a newer model is improved over what I have. I Just hate to waste another $200 bucks and get the same results, I rather pay $300-$500 bucks and getting something that is proven to work.

Unfortunately my pool is surrounded by Oaks, and a few different Oaks. I have a Red Oak, a White Oak and a Black Oak, there is also a maple close by. The Oaks are not directly over the pool, but close enough that they all drop stuff into the pool. These trees are all different and all produce different debris and it drives me nut! Little acorns, big acorns, pollen, leaves, sticks and the White Oak drops these little balls about the size of a BB, they are brown and once they hit the water they smear when you try and remove them, just a mess. I have to close my pool in September because it just becomes a losing battle. If I can buy a cleaner that will actually work, I could probably buy another month or two of swimming!
