Default I dont know what happened

I had my pool opened today, in ground. There are alot of bubbles coming out of the jets , lots of noise and when the company took the pool cover off, I noticed ALOT of dirt in the pool.Sorry, after they left and I came home I saw all the dirt, probably about 10 cups or more. I tried cleaning the pool and the pump was making noise.I could see alot of debris coming from the pool into the pump skimmer? The pump suddenly ceased and I cant even turn it on. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened??

Yipes! Doesn't sound good. I'm wondering if a pipe broke underground and dirt got into the pipe, fed into the pump, and jammed it up. I wouldn't turn that pump on until it's been cleaned out and the impeller can turn easily by hand.

But I'm just guessing. Some pool company. Some opening. They left it like that and didn't even call you to tell you. I'd put them on my "Do Not Call" list.
